Miriam Götz

Miriam Götz is a director for music theater and drama with a focus on contemporary music theater and projects for young audiences, which she often develops in collaborative processes. She has worked with the composer Clemens K. Thomas and with Ensemble Recherche for the staged family concert »A Song of Salt and Water«.

In 2023, she directed the world premiere of Sara Glojnarić’s opera »Neuro-Moon. Manage your memories.« (Text: Emma Braslavsky). In addition to the main stage , the chamber stage was also included with an interactive installation. At the Neuköllner Oper Berlin, she staged the world premiere of Andys Skordis & Jelena Vucsanovic’s chamber opera »A light blue day«, which won first prize in the Berlin Opera Prize. Miriam Götz studied Cultural Studies & Aesthetic Practice in Hildesheim and Musicology in Aix-en-Provence. She worked as an assistant director at the Neuköllner Oper Berlin, at the ECLAT Festival Neue Musik and for several years at the Theater Freiburg. She has worked with Matthias Rebstock, Florentine Klepper, Barbara Mundel, Calixto Bieito, Joan Antón Rechi and Ingo Kerkhof, among others.
