Ensemble Aventure stands for adventure, for the risk involved in venturing into unknown worlds of sound and imagination. Since its foundation in 1986, the Freiburg-based ensemble has dedicated itself to contemporary chamber music at the highest musical level; at the same time, it places great importance on its work in the areas of education and outreach in the form of workshops with students at music academies, projects with children and performances with amateur groups. His main concern is to give marginalised perspectives a voice. This is demonstrated, for example, by its commitment to the music of politically persecuted and repressed composers, to whose rediscovery Ensemble Aventure has made a significant contribution, the search for new compositional voices, but also its long-standing commitment to the contemporary music of Latin America and other non-European compositional worlds. With its renowned Freiburg concert series, its intensive contacts with composers worldwide, numerous commissions, hundreds of world premieres, international concert appearances, around 25 CDs and numerous projects and publications on the communication of new music, Ensemble Aventure has played a decisive role in shaping contemporary music and bringing it to a wide audience.
