The ensemble in the room, surrounded by the audience, illuminated by light art: Nachtmusik (Night Music) is a musical exploration of the night and the heightened contrasts that accompany it–as a time of rest between wakefulness, dreams, and sleep, but also as a state of vulnerability, exposure, nightmares, and violence.

Even though Nachtmusik emphasizes the immediate, even intimate experience of silence and darkness, the analogy to the »dark times« in which the world seems to be increasingly losing itself, to the ever-sharper contradictions, cannot be overlooked.
