There is no sweet spot, no place of optimal listening, in this piece. This is because the speaker system suspended above the audience’s heads, developed by Andreas Eduardo Frank in collaboration with the Experimentalstudio, uses the sounds and movements of the musicians and the audience to create »acoustic beings and sound sculptures,« a constantly changing acoustic body that unfolds, wanders, and transforms itself plastically in space.

In Hear It Coming, the individual moves away from the center of perception. The focus is on an intense collective listening situation, a recalibration of the senses. And the six songs that structure the work unfold a posthumanist narrative about unrest and vigilance.
