With its unique combination of accordion, theorbo, electric guitar and electronics, Azione Improvvisa seeks to create a dialogue that connects the past and the future.
The young Italian quartet’s current project rejects millions of years and projects the phenomena of the Eocene, which was marked by dramatic climate change, into a dystopian future. The four composers elicit a rich variety of colours from their instruments and conjure up a wide range of images related to the theme: from the erosion of rock to gently blowing breath to comic-like robotics.
