ECLAT review 2025 on SWR Kultur JetztMusik
On 2 December 2025, Michael Rebhahn will present a review of the ECLAT Festival Neue Musik 2025 on SWR Kultur JetztMusik. This hour-long programme will feature ‘Versprengtes und Verstreutes’ (Scattered and Scattered) from this year’s festival.
ECLAT 2025 was conceived as ‘a grand, multifaceted narrative about what really matters: us. All of us in our uniqueness, contradictions, fragility, our assertions and doubts, stories and longings, our togetherness.’
International guests, including ECLAT debutants United Instruments of Lucilin from Luxembourg, the Fabrik Quartet and Marco Fusi, and established Stuttgart performers, including the SWR Symphony Orchestra and the SWR Vocal Ensemble, curated by Lydia Jeschke, as well as the HMDK Stuttgart’s echtzeitEnsemble for the first time, shaped five varied and exciting festival days at the Theaterhaus Stuttgart.
Artistic director Christine Fischer summed up the core idea behind this multifaceted festival as follows:
»The opportunity to immerse oneself in this diversity of contemporary music-making is also an invitation to listen to one another. This is not just a phrase, but a change in approach: we consciously want to broaden the scope of our activities and, in addition to the tried-and-tested method of showing how valuable and enriching the experience of (contemporary) music can be, we want to break new ground. As organisers and producers, we want to listen and learn together with artists, and we want to develop artistic impulses from communicating with people from walks of life that are far removed from our «art bubble”.”
