Die Neuen Vocalsolisten on arte concert
The live recording of Luciano Berio’s Sinfonia at the Festival d’Automne in Paris with the Neue Vocalsolisten and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France conducted by Pascal Rophé is now available in the arte media library.
Sinfonia is Berio’s most famous and probably also most popular work, because like no other it reviews Western music history in sophisticated montages: here the voices merge with the orchestral sound in quotations from Bach to Debussy to Stockhausen, supplemented by text fragments by Claude Levi Strauss, Samuel Beckett and slogans from the student movement of 1968.
In addition to Berio’s Sinfonia, the programme for the concert on 28 November 2025 at the Festival d’Automne also included five early songs by Gustav Mahler and the world premiere of Bára Gísladóttir’s orchestral work sea sons seasons (commissioned by Radio France/Festival d’Automne/WDR).
The concert video will be available until 28 November 2026.
