The poetic transformation of landscape sounds

Dr. Sandra Müller (Ecoacoustician, Geobotany, University of Freiburg)

Sandra Müller will provide insights into eco-acoustic research and the analysis of natural sounds, Kirsten Reese into her artistic work in special perceptual situations and spaces.

The dialog between art and science will focus on sonification, creative data processing and how the sounds discovered and collected together the day before from the Stuttgart city forest are transformed in an artistic creative process.

A Naturgucker app invites all interested parties to continue collecting forest sounds. The recordings will be incorporated into the immersive spatial composition FUTURE FOREST, which will be premiered by Ensemble Recherche and the SWR Experimentalstudio at the ECLAT festival in 2026.
