Michael Zwenzner

Dramaturgical collaboration

Michael Zwenzner was born in Delmenhorst in 1967. After completing his master’s degree in musicology, German studies and theater studies in Munich, he co-founded the Munich Society for New Music in 1996 and was a board member for several years. Since 2006, he has been an honorary board member of the Munich Chamber Orchestra, which he also advises artistically.

 

From 2002 to 2013 he was international promotion manager of G. Ricordi Bühnen- und Musikverlag, from 2019 to 2021 research associate at the ARS (Art Research Sound) project at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Since 2013 he has been working in the field of new music as an author, artistic consultant and curator for festivals, radio stations, music publishers, CD labels, ensembles and magazines.

 

He is the author of numerous articles, broadcasts and several book publications on new music, including the composers Stefan Wolpe and Enno Poppe, sound art and musical performance. He has been a dramaturgical assistant for the Eclat Festival and Musik der Jahrhunderte since 2023. Since 2024 he has been a member of the management team of ensemble mosaik in Berlin, where he mainly lives.
