Uday Krishnakumar (b. 1979 in Chennai) composes literary musical works from fictional, invented art music traditions. He also writes a unique kind of music for solo instrumentsespecially for the clavichord. After studying composition with Czernowin, Pauset and Manoury, he settled with his family in Berlin. He studies Rudra Veena with Ustad Mohi Ba- hauddin Dagar. His music has been performed internationally at concert halls and festivals for contemporary music and awarded several prizes, including the 2023 Stuttgart Composition Prize for his music theatre O‘Karakino.
