The concert concludes the workshop Voices and Accordions, which began at the Darmstadt Summer Course 2021 as a joint project of the accordion studio of Krassimir Sterev and the studio for contemporary voice of the Neue Vocalsolisten, accompanied by the composers Lucia Ronchetti and Malin Bång.

In part 2 of the workshop in Stuttgart, again accompanied by the New Vocal Soloists Andreas Fischer and Martin Nagy with words and deeds, we continued on the traces of this ancient liaison of voice(s) and the so-called Quetschkommode, also called Schifferklavier or »Zerrwanst«. In folk music, this duo has always had its place, but in art music, this instrumentation was almost exclusively assigned the smallest of supporting roles. This has now come to an end, thanks to the intensive creative work of young composers and performers who, as described above, have been made fit for voice by outstanding experts in voice and composition.

Das Konzert ist eine Veranstaltung von Musik der Jahrhunderte in Kooperation mit den Darmstädter Ferienkursen für Neue Musik und schließt den gleichnamigen Darmstädter Workshop ab.
